Here are some highlights from our conversation: What inspired you to start Four Winds Interactive? I started my career in traditional advertising working at an ad agency in Chicago.

I quickly realized that I didn’t want to spend my life convincing people to buy things they don’t need. So I decided to go into product development instead. I started working on developing software products and eventually co-founded a company called The Learning Company which was acquired by Mattel.

After that, I became involved in the early days of ecommerce and helped launch one of the first online travel companies called It was while working on that I got introduced to the concept of digital signage…and saw its potential to revolutionize communication in public spaces like airports, shopping malls and office buildings. So in 2002, I founded Four Winds Interactive with a vision to create great software that would make it easy for anyone to use digital signage effectively.
